I met this girl and she really caught my eye, not from how she looks on the outside. It’s the things she says, the way she presents herself to me, that stimulates my mind. I sit here waiting for her to interact with me. Looking for a way to reach out to her without appearing to be creepy. I know this sounds cliché, it was love at first sight. Not the romantic kind, the plain and simple sort that lasts a life time. When two people share thoughts and their personalities align. Friendship on a deeper level than what you typically find. It was a cold lonely night, she was glowing like candle light. Her smile says it all and she always has it on. I’m like the man on the moon when she comes around. Lost in outer space, with a smile, breathing deep into the mask on my face. We march around like we’re in a parade, talking like we were best friends since 8th grade. It’s amazing how she makes me feel no pain. The soothing chills down my spine every time I hear her name. I look forward to what she is going to say. She keeps me on my toes, trying to be my best. For this I must confess. She has my heart jumping around in my chest. I close my eyes and just pretend. We’re together holding hands. Walking through the park with nothing to say. Then I wake up and I am all alone again. She’s even made it to my dreams. If life were a pageant, she’s the beauty queen. Ms. Universe with a heart of gold. Someone I hope I still know when I grow old. We just met so none of this she can be told. So here I sit writing yet another poem. When she reads this the truth may be known. It’s fine eventually the truth is all we know. Our feelings we have no control, expressing them is the only way to go.
